Some babies fuss all the time and have more than the usual amount of trouble eating and sleeping. This can have a profound impact on a family, as everyone’s sleep and biorhythms get disrupted. A parent in this situation may become depressed, sleep-deprived and cranky, and may begin to feel incompetent as a parent. This may create a vicious cycle, with the parent’s worry being felt by the baby.
Certified by the Erikson Institute (Chicago) as a Fussy Baby Specialist, I understand how to work with babies that experience problems sleeping, crying and feeding. After listening to the parents’ urgent concerns, together we develop strategies that will help soothe their baby.
I help parents see that caring for a fussy baby can be a learning opportunity—helping them build parenting muscles that will be come in handy when issues arise later in the child’s life.
